Description
DESCRIPTION:
Your first realization that the boat is indeed, heavier than other 37 footers, when you step into the cockpit and there is hardly a murmur of boat movement. It is a solid feeling wears favorably on your sense of welling being at sea. The cockpit is almost 11 feet wide and 8 feet long. It’s big enough for several deck chairs for morning coffee or evening relaxing at anchor with a glass of wine.
The flybridge is reached by a rugged, six step stainless steel ladder. Central to the Bridge is the helm control console which can be operated comfortably while standing and even more comfortably sitting. This is a fishing boat helm, the captain can watch fishing activity in the cockpit and at the same time monitor forward movement in the fishing grounds amongst the other boats. Instruments and controls are within easy reach and the visibility is excellent. Seating on the bridge includes two bench seats which provides seating for an additional six persons. The Flybridge windscreen deserves a special note. It is made of smoke acrylic plastic and positioned with the usual reverse slope to deflect main wind Windstream well over the heads of the occupants on the bridge. The transparent acrylic panels are solidly bolted together and screwed in place, then sealed along the coaming.
Unlike other boats, that need a raised forward trunk cabin for interior headroom, the Hatteras 37 has a relatively flat and large bow deck which makes a wonderful place for sunning.
